Hello Beautiful Souls!
     This is JorJa here, aka SunShine-Luna! I have been doing a lot of thinking and self reflection lately in which I have decided that I need to get on a deeper level with all of you!!! So, I am going to re-introduce myself to you all in hopes that we can start a new! Here we go...

Who the Heck am I? 
 You may now be wondering, who the heck am I? How the heck did you get to this website? Who is this person and what are they offering? Well, get your popcorn, smoothie, and other snacks ready, pull up a chair (if you aren't already in one), and enjoy the ride because you are in for quite the story. 

My name is JorJa J Bennett. JorJa is pronounced Georgia and both of the J's are capitalized. My middle name is literally just the letter J and nothing else. My family calls me JorJa J but everyone else calls me JorJa. Past close friends have gotten away with JoJo though, but no one calls me that anymore. I didn't mind, it always reminded me of the character Josephine in the book "Little Women," whom was also known as "Jo." 

 As far as my name, I used to hate it in elementary school. Kids teased me and called me names like: George, Georgiia, Jorgina, George/Georgia of the Jungle, horha, the list goes on. But as I've grown into a woman and more into my spiritual being, I have realized that it doesn't really matter what other people say. What matters is how I feel about it. I feel amazing about my name, it is unique and creative and has helped to shape me into the woman I am today.


My mother spent hours with my God Mom to figure out the spelling of my name.  She knew she wanted to name me Georgia but to change the spelling. Her best friend in the whole world was diagnosed with breast cancer and then shortly after, passed away in the late 70s. Georgia hated her name, because she was named after her father George who had wanted a boy. So when it turned out to be a girl he named her Georgia, which Georgia didn't find it so creative and she even felt it was dorky. So my Mom honored her best friend by naming me after her, with a different spelling.  I am forever humbled by this name, and wear it with much honor & respect. :)
Middle school and High school was tons better. In middle school I still tried to fit in, between the labels of "Rocker/Goth" and "Hip Hop" but it eventually evened out to where I turned into my own unique self, a pagan, gothic, Hippie!  Ha! And I am so much more! Funny thing is, when I was in 4th grade my Mom showed me the movie Woodstock and I knew I wanted to be a Hippie, before I even knew what Hippie meant. All I knew, is they were the epitome of love, freedom, and compassion. I knew I wanted to be that way..maybe that was my first peek into spiritual awakening....


I was born an only child in the state of California to a single mother, who also happens to be a Hippie (Did I luck out or what!!!?). My childhood was great but I always had to entertain myself being an only child. I did have my friends later in life, but I've always been an introvert. One friend you may hear of often is my best friend Deanna. We have known each other since the second grade! She is truly my other half, and we help guide each other through this amazing and difficult lifetime.  


Spirituality--My Journey
As I grew into my teenage years I began to look for something more than video games and boys. I wanted to become more spiritual, I felt a calling I just didn't know where. I tried going to church and youth groups, heck I even got baptized once! It was just once people were trying to tell me what it was that I could and could not do, I just felt uneasy..like something just didn't feel right about it to me. And I was right, it wasn't the right path for me, it is for some, just not me. So I shrugged off going to church knowing it just wasn't right for me. I continued on with my  school studies and my daily life routine of hanging out with friends and spending the majority of my time on the internet. 

 As a teen I became deeply interested as well as anxious about death and I felt very depressed about it. I even went to therapy because I could not stop thinking about death. Really, I had no one in my life die in my teens, so there was nothing to set those feelings off...not in this lifetime at least. I just felt the despair of the  impermanence of mortality. So, I needed to seek another answer.

One night when I was 16, I was up late at night on the internet (my teenage salvation) and stumbled upon a website called "Salem Witch School." It was all about Pagan spiritual practices, as well as any other you could think of. It was a place for Pagans, witches, and wiccans, but also a place for Christians, Catholics, Satanists, Buddhists, and etc.  This was a school, Coven, and forum of knowledge and spiritual practice of all kinds, everyone was welcome. There were also other teachers for different subjects. I learned a wealth of knowledge from the High priestess who also became my mentor, Gypsy. 


Gypsy was one of my biggest influences in my spiritual path, she became not only my mentor but also a soul sister to me. She taught me that there is no one right path in life or in spirituality, that everyone has their own. She told me that I am allowed to take whatever traditions/rituals/rites/Spiritual practices/and religions I wanted and make them into my own path. This is what Gypsy and many others call an Eclectic Witch. She also answered all of my questions with kindness and compassion, while also becoming a very close friend in the process. 


I took many classes from Gypsy including: Wand Making, Witchcraft for beginners through to advanced, and Reiki courses. I spent many hours enjoying the homework that she dealt out, from History of Witchcraft homework to writing out the Reiki symbols over and over...I even read Raymond Buckland's Complete book of witchcraft, cover to cover and completed all of the exercises..it was crazy, and very text-book like, but I learned a ton! I completed everything on time and with enormous amounts of love. 

You may also be wondering where I got my alias "SunShine-Luna." Well, during this time in my life I had a dream. A dream about a Native American tribe that took me in when one of the members found me passed out on a horse with an arrow in my back. The chief of the Tribe became kind of a Grandfather figure, thinking I was interesting and good of heart. I often made him laugh. I also began to work under his wife, who was the tribe's herbal healer (This became one of the signs for me to get into herbal therapy this lifetime). She taught me how to heal the people with herbal salves, poultices, and smudging (Something Tiptoe chick taught me or possibly reminded me this lifetime). 


I soon became like a mother of the tribe, I even married my Chief's son Little Bear who asked for my hand in marriage. I grew close to my Chief/Grandfather and he began to call me his Sunshine. Something that rings a bell in this lifetime. I believe the chief in my past lifetime is with me in this current lifetime. Calling me SunShine being one of the signs, having an instant connection is another. So that's how I became SunShine, or SunShinetheWitch, or SunShinewitchie. SunShine became my magickal name.


Now I am known as SunShine-Luna. The Luna comes from the feeling that SunShine didn't completely describe me as a whole, you see cancer rules my emotions (moon sign) and Leo my mind (Sun Sign), ergo SunShine-Luna. What prompted me to take the leap and make the change was when I was first getting my business started I was going to call it "SunShine's Botanicals"  although it didn't have the greatest ring to it, now that I think about it but it was already taken so I couldn't use it.  But my lovely boyfriend Robert started thinking up names with me, and boom! He came up with "Luna's Light Botanicals" it was perfect! It sounded great! It symbolized so much, so I just went with it, and so did my Magickal name.   


As time went on, Gypsy could not afford to keep the site up and running, nor could she afford the time and effort to keep hackers out while she was away for health treatment (Something she dealt with for her entire life). She eventually had to close down the site and the doors to her school. A very sad day for all, especially for her and myself. A place that she and I, as well as many others had called home was now gone, and then just like that we all dispersed into the universe. It really saddens me when that happens, large groups of people suddenly lose contact with others. It's really very depressing...that's life for ya! The universe can work in mysterious ways.


You will be happy to know that to this day I still keep in contact with my mentor Gypsy, although she and I have moved on from that relationship. That's how mentor relationships usually work I have come to find out. You see, the universe sends you a teacher and when you have learned what you needed from them and vice verse, then you tend to move on. I am forever grateful from what I have learned from Gypsy and will always keep her, and her knowledge in my heart.


Since then I have moved on to other mentors and ways of research. Gypsy gave me the foundation I needed, and then it was time for me to trek the dusty trail on my own. On youtube I began following public spiritual mentors (namely Pagan) such as Tiptoe Chick, and then later on, via Tiptoe Chick, I found CharmingPixieFlora! Both of them have helped to shape my spirituality into what it is today. 


Tiptoe Chick (aka Dee) I found on YouTube while I was probably researching pagan and Wiccan topics. When I found her, instant connection! This girl told it how it was, she was gorgeous beyond all reason, she made me laugh, and she was pagan/wiccan with a Gothic twist! My kind of girl. 


I followed Tiptoe's channel for a few years, I learned tons of things about myself through her rants and spiritual videos. From Dee I found my passion for Herbs! We all even made a coven on sticam! If you don't know what a coven is, well it's a group of witches that get together either in person or online and practice rituals together, as well as share knowledge. Anyways, we all spent hours on webcam with one another talking about our dreams, what we did with our day, and what cool new thing we could learn that day. We just had so much fun, but then it ended, suddenly, and very abruptly. Just like before..we all dispersed into the universe. 


 At the time Tiptoe didn't tell us why she was leaving, but we later found out that she was betrayed badly by someone over the internet, so she was gone for about a year or two leaving us in CharmingPixieFlora's hands.  


Flora was quite different than Tiptoe, which was great! She was more about the activities of the Pagan community, the sabbats, chakras, and cooking! I learned a ton from her on how to celebrate the Sabbats, food for such events, and even about pagan parenting. But I still missed Dee and her rants. 


One day Dee (Tiptoe) came back, it was just as sudden and abrupt as when she left. Then the group was back again, and it still it..minus sticam chats since sticam closed down last year. Now I have both Dee and Flora in my life, they are both wonderful and amazing. They have helped to shape my views, ideas, and daily rituals. I am so grateful to have them!! 


Since then, I have also found Leonie Dawson and Marie Forleo as youtube spiritual business mentors. Both of them are currently guiding my way through making my business something totally amazing! I honestly cannot be more excited to wake up each morning and work on my business and feel that it is going to help people and is my life's work. It balances me spiritually, mentally, and emotionally. Yes sometimes running a business is stressful, especially when you feel you are putting more money into it than you are receiving.  But now with these two fine women I feel I have the support to get my business where I want it to be, and feel spiritually fulfilled while doing so! Something I have always strove for in my life. 

Through 6 years of being on my spiritual path, I feel that I know myself pretty well. I have dabbled in many different spiritualities and religions and have adopted what fits me from each of them, and let the rest of it go. Through much time in meditation I have discovered that I can connect with my spiritual self and my spirit guides. I know that I can trust my intuition, and my inner voice. I have been guided to become a healer of the world, and of all sentient beings.  I consider myself an eclectic witch, I have taken from the spiritualities of Rastafarianism, Buddhism (Dreadies and philosophy), Pagan(My god/dess are the Moon, Earth, Sun, and the Stars), among many others. I read Edgar Cayce books and do research on his website in my spare time. I believe in karma and reincarnation. I also believe that everyone has a right to believe what they want to, as long as they don't hurt anyone. :) 


Through much self reflection and meditation it was then I realized I wanted to heal others and have my own shop that I could run from home. Something I could eventually build on while being able to work from the comfort of my own home. Before I developed fibromyalgia it was just a desire to work from home, once I did develop fibromyalgia and realized there was no way I could work a regular job anyways..well It pushed me to make my dream a reality.


Now my dream has grown into something bigger than I have ever imagined, and I hope to be able to share it all with you!    
  
 Who am I now and What can I do for you?
  
I am an Aquarius in the age of Aquarius. I am an indigo child here to bring knowledge and to learn all I can throughout this lifetime. I am here to help Mother earth and all sentient beings among her. I am here to heal this earth and to teach others how to heal her. I am here to help other beings bring balance to their spiritual and physical selves. I am here to bring balance to the earth by my healing abilities, my knowledge of Horticulture, and use of herbs. I am here to bring balance to myself and to others around me. I am here to bring peace and balance to the world.  


I am a Horticulture major working on my A.S. degree (So close!). I am also the Horticulture Club president. Through schooling I plan on adding Landscape design to the list of services I offer locally :) Through Horticulture I plan to become better at gardening and to be able to design, plant, and irrigate my own herbal & Vegetable garden, using my herbs and plants in the products I make for my shop! I will also be able to offer more gardening advice and tips!

I am JorJa J Bennett, Owner of Luna's Light Botanicals, here to become spiritually enlightened as well as to help the earth and her beings to balance & heal, as well as teach them to heal themselves. I am here to serve you, to help heal you, to teach you, and to guide you.

I will be offering Lotions, Lip Balms, Body Butters, Salves, Bath Salts, Perfumes, Colognes, and Crystal Jewelry. Items that will be added later on are Shampoos, Conditioners, Sugar Scrubs, Cosmetics (Foundations, Lipsticks, Eyeliner, Eyeshadow and etc. So keep your eyes peeled for the weekly newsletter! ;)

I spend my time and effort to hand make each item in my shop, even down to the crystal jewelry. I buy each crystal from the local rock shop.
